DSWD SFP released assistance to Catigbian

Catigbian, as one of the seven (7) recipient municipalities in the Province of Bohol under the DSWD’s Supplementary Feeding Program to day care centers, turn-over the rice and cash assistance to 22 barangay day care centers that will benefit the 472 currently enrolled preschoolers. Supplementary Feeding Program is a national program that provides food in addition to regular meals and is part of the DSWD’s contribution to the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) program of the government.

For CY 2011, food supplementation will be in a form of hot meals to be served during break/snack time in the morning session to children in day care centers five (5) days a week. Specifically it augments P10.00/preschooler a day for a period of four (4) months or 120 days to all day care centers in the municipality. The total cost of the program is P 623,800.00 which covers for the rice, viand, eating and cooking utensils for its implementation starting August 23, 2011.Aside from feeding, children will also be taught on proper hygiene, table manners and simple concept and importance on health care and nutrition for their development
